What ClipSync does

ClipSync syncs clipboard content (text, links, and images you copy) across your own devices — Android, desktop, and the web — in real time. This policy explains what data we collect to make that work, why, and what your options are.

Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, collected when you sign in via Google, GitHub, or email magic-link/one-time code (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase).

Clipboard content. The text, links, and images you copy, so they can sync to your other signed-in devices. This is only shared with other people if you explicitly create a share link for a specific clip.

Device information. A device name (e.g. your phone model or computer hostname), platform (Android/desktop/web), and a locally-generated device identifier — used to show you your list of connected devices and to enforce the free-plan device limit.

Usage analytics. When you open the app, we log the platform, browser (web only), operating system, and an approximate location derived from your IP address (country and city — this comes from standard network-routing information, not GPS, and is often inaccurate at the city level). This is used for basic product analytics (e.g. how many people use ClipSync and from where) and is visible only to us, not to other users.

Payment information. If you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed entirely by Paystack. We never receive or store your card number — only your subscription status and expiry date.

Feedback. Anything you voluntarily submit through the in-app feedback form.

End-to-end encryption

When end-to-end encryption is enabled on your account, your clipboard content is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers, using a key that only your own devices hold. We store only ciphertext we cannot read. When E2EE is not enabled, clip content is stored as plain text in our database, accessible to us for support and moderation purposes.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers to run ClipSync, each processing only what they need to do their job:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and real-time sync infrastructure.
  • Vercel — hosts the web app and API; sees your IP address as part of normal web request handling.
  • Paystack — processes Premium subscription payments.
  • Google / GitHub — if you choose to sign in with one of these, per their own privacy policies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email cikenduhill@gmail.comfrom the email address on your account — we'll confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at the email above to exercise any of these.

Children's privacy

ClipSync is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where required, notify you directly.
